Dash Mini Waffles Recipe
Ever since I got my Dash mini waffle maker, I have loved making these mini waffles! It is so much easier than using my larger waffle maker and makes the perfect mini Belgian waffle.
I usually make a batch of these waffles to have on hand for breakfast all week! They are quick to make with pantry staples and do not require any extra steps like making buttermilk or beating egg whites.
They are also freezer-friendly which is great for meal prep or when I want to include them on a Valentine’s Day breakfast board. Everyone always loves this adorable Dash mini waffle recipe!
Ingredient Notes

This is an overview, jump to printable recipe with full instructions and amounts.
- Flour: I used all-purpose flour.
- Milk: I used unsweetened oat milk but any milk should work including whole milk or 2% milk.
- Baking powder: This provides lift and rise in the mini waffles.
- Oil: I used vegetable oil but any ‘fat’ should work including melted butter or melted coconut oil.
- Eggs: I used one large egg at room temperature.

Toppings and Variations
- As a simple breakfast, my family loves these mini waffles with some butter and maple syrup.
- For something more decadent, try Nutella, fresh berries and whipped cream. A drizzle of peanut butter and banana slices is also heavenly.
- I love to stir in about 1/2 cup chocolate chips when I make these for my daughter.
- If we are having brunch, I make a waffle bar so everyone can customize their own toppings and also serve my strawberry banana flaxseed smoothie for a boost of protein and fiber!

Recipe Tips
- Resting the batter: When I have time I like to let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the flour to absorb the liquid and relax the gluten resulting in a lighter, more tender homemade mini waffle.
- Grease the waffle iron: Just a light coating of non-stick cooking spray goes a long way in helping the waffles not stick. I usually only have to spray it once for the whole batch.
- Consistency of batter: For the best crispy waffles aim for a batter that is thick yet pourable. Too thick and your waffles won’t be as fluffy.
- Golden brown exterior: Preheat the mini waffle maker so the outside of the waffle crisps properly.
- Watch the time: My mini Dash waffle maker does not have an indicator light, so I often set a timer on my phone for 60 seconds. I then check if it’s done. When I meal prep, I slightly undercook them so they can crisp up in the toaster while reheating.
- Equipment: I used the Dash mini waffle maker. I love the small size of it! I even have two of them, the one pictures and one that is a snowflake. You can use this recipe with any waffle maker.

Notes
Storage
- Store: Cool completely then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I place parchment paper between waffles to prevent sticking.
- Freeze: Cool mini waffles then store in a freezer-safe bag in the freezer for up to 3 months. No need to buy frozen waffles at the store any longer!
- Reheat: Reheat from frozen in the microwave or toaster. I like to reheat for about 10-20 seconds in the microwave then place in the toaster to retain their crispy finish.
