Sweet, creamy, and full of feel-good ingredients, this strawberry banana flaxseed smoothie is the ultimate healthy way to start your day.

Strawberry Banana Flaxseed Yogurt Smoothie
This smoothie is everything I want in a morning drink. It’s naturally sweet, extra creamy, and packed with nutrients. Banana gives it a rich milkshake texture, while flaxseed adds a hearty dose of fiber and protein.
I love it for a quick breakfast, post-workout fuel, or a refreshing afternoon snack. Just like my pumpkin smoothie recipe, you can make it dairy-free, protein-rich, or toss in extras based on what’s in your kitchen.
It’s a go-to way to kickstart the day just like my blueberry cauliflower smoothie. And if you’re into frozen fruit snacks, check out these Berry Frozen Yogurt Bites too. They’re perfect straight from the freezer.

Ingredient Notes

Find the full recipe with printable directions below.
- Frozen strawberries: Give the smoothie a fruity and frosty texture
- Frozen banana: Adds natural sweetness, thickness and creaminess
- Unsweetened almond milk: Or use any milk you prefer from dairy milk to dairy free milk
- Vanilla yogurt: I used vanilla almond milk yogurt, but any Greek yogurt or dairy based yogurt also works
- Ground flaxseed: A nutrition boost you can’t taste
- Honey: For a little added sweetness
How to Make a Strawberry Banana Flaxseed Smoothie
To start, toss your frozen strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk, and flaxseed into a blender.
If you’re using honey or any extras, go ahead and add those in too.

Blend everything on high until smooth and creamy. You may want to scrape down the sides halfway through if anything gets stuck.
Pour into a glass, add a straw, and sip! This smoothie is ready in only 5 minutes.

Tips and Variations
- If you don’t have yogurt, swap it with extra milk or a splash of juice.
- Toss in a handful of spinach for a green boost, you can’t even taste it.
- If you want it sweeter, a date or a spoonful of maple syrup works great.
- Make it extra thick and serve as a smoothie bowl with toppings.
- Taste and adjust. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk. Want it sweeter? Try a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
FAQs
While best fresh, you can blend and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake well before drinking or reblend with some ice for a frostier, thicker texture.
It’s best to use ground flaxseed so your body can absorb the nutrients. Whole flax tends to pass right through.
You can freeze it in popsicle molds or ice cube trays for a smoothie later on!
