  • Greek yogurt: Use vanilla Greek yogurt for a thick, creamy texture. Full fat works best, but low fat will also set nicely. Plain yogurt will work and will be less sweet but not as flavorful.
  • Oreo cookies: Classic Oreos or Double Stuf give this cheesecake its cookies and cream flavor. You’ll press some into the yogurt and crush the rest for topping. Use gluten-free or your favorite seasonal Oreo.

How to Make the Viral 2-Ingredient Oreo Japanese Cheesecake

Spoon the Greek yogurt evenly into serving cups or small glasses.

Gently press whole Oreo cookies down into the yogurt in each cup so they sit slightly below the surface. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This helps the cheesecake set and lets the flavors come together.

Tips and Variations

  • To serve: Crush the remaining Oreos and sprinkle them over the top. Drizzle with chocolate syrup if using, then serve chilled.
  • Cookie swaps: Swap Oreo cookies for Biscoff cookies for a caramelized flavor, or use graham crackers for a more classic cheesecake feel. Ladyfingers or vanilla wafers also work well for a fun twist.
  • Toppings: Fresh strawberries or other berries add a bright, fresh contrast to the creamy cheesecake.
  • Portions: Single serve yogurt cups work great here and make easy, individualized servings.
  • Chill time: Chill for at least 1 hour, but for the best texture, 8 hours to overnight is ideal.
