Creamy Broccoli Smoothie

This broccoli smoothie recipe makes a nutrient rich breakfast or snack! Packed with broccoli, apple, mango and frozen banana it’s creamy and I promise you won’t even taste the broccoli!

This green smoothie like my spinach and green apple smoothie is one of my favorite ways to sneak extra veggies into my morning. Made with simple ingredients it’s ready in about 5 minutes!

Why I Love This Recipe

  • Nutritious: The smoothie with broccoli is packed with healthy ingredients from the broccoli to spinach and sweet fruits! It’s also a beautiful green color.
  • Easy to make: Add it all to a blender and combine! It’s so simple even your kids could make it – which is great because they will love to drink it, too!

Ingredient Notes

Broccoli, apple, mango, spinach, banana and almond milk with honey on the counter.
  • Broccoli: Broccoli adds nutrients and color to the green smoothie. It should be fresh, raw broccoli florets.
  • Frozen mango: This frozen fruit adds sweet taste to the easy broccoli smoothie.
  • Frozen ripe banana: Adds sweetness to the creamy smoothie as well as helps mask the broccoli flavor.
  • Green apple: I used a Granny Smith apple as the tart flavor pairs well with the other sweet fruits. Use any type of fresh apple you would like!
  • Milk: I used unsweetened almond milk, but feel free to use your favorite dairy or plant-based milk like oat milk.
  • Spinach: Baby spinach is my preference as it is milk in flavor and it’s a great way to pack in your greens! It can be raw or frozen.
  • Honey: Honey adds a touch of sweetness to the healthy smoothie. You can use more or less or even omit it and it will still taste great.
  • Water: This helps make the vegetable smoothie more blendable. You could use coconut water or orange juice for more flavor.

Recipe Tips and Variations

  • High powered blender: Use a Vitamix or similar blender that is high powered really makes a difference in making this smoothie blend without chunks.
  • Hate broccoli? That’s okay if you are not a fan of the cruciferous vegetable! You can add more spinach in place of the broccoli.
  • Fruit swap: Swap mango for blueberries and make a blueberry broccoli smoothie. Pineapple would also be a great substitution or add-in!
  • Protein: Add some nut butter like peanut butter or almond butter. Greek yogurt would add a tangy taste or try a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
  • Add-ins: Add in vanilla extract or avocado slices.
  • Serve immediately: This green broccoli smoothie starts to seperate after it sits. I recommended to drink it right away!
