- 1 17.5 ounce sugar cookie mix package , I used Betty Crocker
- 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter , softened
- 1 egg
- 4 Tablespoons colored sugar or non-pareils sprinkles
- 25 Hershey's Hugs , any variety works
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment sheet.
Add sugar cookie mix to a large bowl with flour. Stir to combine.
Add egg and softened butter then with a wooden spoon, stir to combine. If the mixture isn't coming together, use your hands to ensure the dough comes together.
Place colored sugar or sprinkles in a shallow dish. Roll dough into 1 1/4 inch balls then roll in the sugar.
Place on prepared baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes (mine took 9 minutes).
After removing from the oven, immediately press an unwrapped chocolate kiss into the center of the cookie.
Cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet then cool completely on a wire rack.
You may get more or less cookies depending on the size you make them.
I used Hershey's hugs, but any variety of Hershey's kisses work.
Store the sugar cookie blossoms in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days. You can also freeze the baked cookies in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months and thaw them at room temperature before serving.
