Ingredients

  • 1 pink lady apple , sliced and cut into star shapes
  • 1 pound strawberries , quartered
  • 1 pound blueberries

Instructions

  • Prepare the strawberries: Begin by rinsing your strawberries. Quarter them and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the blueberries: Wash the blueberries and add them to the bowl with the strawberries. Gently toss to mix.
  • Create apple stars: Wash the Pink Lady apple then slice into pieces. Using a small star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out stars from the apple slices.
  • Combine everything: Add the star-shaped apple pieces to the bowl with the other fruits. Toss everything gently to mix without crushing the fruits.
  • Chill and serve: Chill the fruit salad until ready to serve.

Notes

Cutting the apple into stars adds a festive touch but also makes the salad visually appealing.
Other fruits you could cut into stars include watermelon pineapple or honeydew.
You could add raspberries, cherries and blackberries to the salad.
To prevent browning you can toss the salad with a mixture of 2 Tablespoons honey combined with 2 Tablespoon lime juice.
