What I Love About Garlic Parmesan Asparagus
Okay so, I don’t love this dish as much as my husband, Aaron, but it’s definitely worth adding in your main course. This recipe for garlic asparagus is perfect because you get that strong garlic flavor mixed into the parmesan, and it absorbs into the asparagus (which is about 94% water).
What’s In This Dish?
We have a really simple and delicious ingredient list for you.
- A bunch of asparagus (about 40 spears – serves 3-4 people)
- Olive oil
- Minced garlic
- Adobo seasoning
- Parmesan cheese
Let’s Bake It!
We’ll start off by pre-heating the oven to 450°F. Roasting asparagus at 450 is the temperature we prefer, because a lot of the courses we bake with it also cook at 450°F . For instance, asparagus with salmon. Chilean salmon to be exact. YUM!
After you set the oven to pre-heat, you’ll line a pan with aluminum foil, and pour two tablespoons of olive oil into it, then spread evenly. Next up is to cut off the base of the asparagus spears (about 1 inch), then place the asparagus into the pan.
Now coat the asparagus with two tablespoons of minced garlic, and top that with a tablespoon of adobo seasoning. Make sure everything is spread evenly! Otherwise you’ll be left with a few powerful spears, which you may or may not expect when you bite in!
The last part is to place them in the oven, and bake for 25-30 minutes. How long you bake them for is preference. A crunchier asparagus cook time would be closer to 20 minutes. Whereas, if you like them softer, then the cook time is closer to 30 minutes.
Once they are cooked enough for you, take them out of the oven and sprinkle parmesan cheese over them. Throw them back in the oven for about 5 minutes to let the cheese melt.
And that’s it! A scrumptious dish of garlic parmesan asparagus, ready to be THE side dish of the night!
