DID SOMEONE SAY STRAWBERRIES AND FLAX?
This strawberry smoothie with oats, flax, and a few other delicious ingredients is fresh and satisfying. Here’s what I love most about this fruit smoothie:
- It has loads of nutrients, like 130%+ DV of Vitamin C per serving, and more.
- This smoothie is sweet, SUPER tasty and will curb your appetite.
- It can help to promote weight loss and aid in healthy digestion.
The best part of this recipe is that it has almost no saturated fat, and although the recipe yields two servings, you could actually break it down in to 3-4 small smoothies.
What I Love About Flax Seed and Strawberry Smoothie
This healthy smoothie recipe will give your body tons of energy, vitamins, and dietary fiber to start your day. I recommend adding a few ice cubes to cool it down, although if you use frozen strawberries then you don’t have to use ice.
What’s In This Dish?
The ingredients list for this smoothie is really simple and easy to find.
- Strawberries (Frozen preferably)
- Yogurt (Nonfat)
- Oats
- Cinnamon
- Chia Seeds
- Flax Seed
- Almond Milk
- Sweetener, like Splenda (optional)
- Ice (optional)
Let’s Blend It!
To kick things off, you’ll want to rinse your strawberries with ice cold water. I prefer organic, if possible. Start by adding your liquids first in the blender, then solids last. This prevents the solids from getting stuck in the blades.
So the order goes almond milk, yogurt, chia and flax seeds, cinnamon, oats, then strawberries. Last, throw in a few ice cubes. For two servings, I usually use half a cup of ice, maybe a quarter cup if your strawberries are frozen.
And that’s it! You’ve got yourself a tasty, high-fiber strawberry smoothie with oats.
